With extensive experience in carrying out digital transformation in the public sector, including long term engagements with a range of key Government Departments and the UK Space Agency, LAB287 is a world leader in organisational transformation leveraging space-enabled technologies.
LAB287 is the UK’s leading specialist in space-enabled organisational transformation.
We help government and public sector bodies, as well as businesses in the private sector, to implement change by putting to work the capabilities and potential of data and technologies originating or located in space.
Established in 2014, we have extensive experience of working on transformation within Government departments and in key areas of public services.
Since 2020, we have worked with the UK Space Agency on developing a UK Space Domain Awareness capability, as well as on the formation of the National Space Operations Centre (NSpOC).
In addition to providing a comprehensive Space-Enabled Transformation services, LAB287 is committed to research and studies aimed at furthering the adoption of space-enabled technologies to improve efficiency, innovation and profitability in UK public services and commercial enterprise.
Our vision is simple. By moving boldly and early to embrace the wealth of data, services and other resources available in or from space, public sector bodies and private enterprise organisations in the UK have the opportunity to effect performance-transforming change, and establish long term competitive advantage on the global stage.
We see space data and capabilities as an already rich resource offering possibilities for organisations in every field to improve performance, productivity and efficiency.
With the certainty of exponential expansion of these space-related resources in the years ahead, our aim is both to evangelise for this potent resource, and to be world leaders in assisting in its successful utilisation.
We have worked within the UK public sector for more than a decade, and know the sector almost as well as we know space.
We have successfully implemented change across key Central Government departments, the NHS, the MoD and a number of local authorities, gaining first hand expertise in the governance, controls and scrutiny associated with delivering change programs in the public sector. We are equally well versed in the sensitivities and constraints involved in delivering high profile change in these environments.
This being so, we believe we are ideally positioned to contribute to the conversation surrounding space-focused decision making and transformation implementation within the public sector.
In addition, in alignment with the ambitions of the National Space Strategy and the Space Industrial Plan, the roadmap for LAB287 includes a prominent role in the provision of space-data brokers and integrators, supporting the aim of enabling all companies to adopt space-enabled solutions.
